Biography
As an artist I strive to make bold statements with my graphic work. I use design elements in unique ways in order to communicate visually. Text for me is more than just words. Using text as a medium that can be sculpted to make a figure, texture, or pattern has become my style. I am never without a camera, which I use to document my life and the inspiration all around me. My photographic archive provides color inspiration and often suggests grid systems inherent in the subject matter. My style has evolved over time but the structure of my work continues to be consistent. My work tends to gravitate towards clean structures with visuals that are contrary. I use uncomplicated and clean grid systems with textures, colors, or images that would normally cause tension.
I enjoy harmonizing contrasting styles, mediums, and colors. Designing for me will always be my passion because it allows me to find new avenues of communication.
